
Visa Requirements
Tourist, Business and Transit Visas
Requirements (subject to change any time):
- Valid Passport must be submitted
(Passport must be signed and valid for 6 months from the date of intended travel)
- One completed visa application form
- Copy of computer generated itinerary and/or round trip ticket
- Business Letter for business visa
- One (1) recent passport photo
- Proof of residence status in the United States or Canada (this requirement applies only to nationals of other countries who reside legally in the United States/Canada)
- For children up to 17 years of age:
The following documents are required to support the visa application of a child to enter Suriname:
1. Birth Certificate showing the names of both parents;
2. Copy of legal documents pertaining to custody, where, when, if applicable;
3. Legalized letter of consent:

- If child is travelling with one parent, the letter of consent authorizing travel must be legalized by the other parent;
- If child is travelling alone or without either parent, a notarized letter of consent from both parents permitting travel;
4. Death Certificate, in case one or both parents are deceased.
Criteria for a business visa:
1. Attend conference, training or meetings
2. Negotiate business
3. Make an exploratory business visit
4. Temporary work assignment for less than 90 days

- 12 months (1 year) multiple entries: US$ 210.00
- 36 months (3 years) multiple entries: US$ 200.00 (this type of visa can only be issued to applicants who are foreigners of Surinamese origin)
- Business visa:
- months multiple entries: US$ 60.00
- 24 months (2 years) multiple entries: US$ 360.00
- Transit visa valid for 3 (three) days: US$ 15.00
- Diplomatic visa up to 12 months (or more upon request) multiple entries: Gratis
- Official/Service visa up to 12 months (or more upon request) multiple entries: Gratis
Requirements for Diplomatic/Official/Service/Courtesy Visas:
A diplomatic note must be submitted to request an appropriate visa for entry into the Republic of Suriname. The diplomatic note must include the applicant’s full name, date of birth, position and title, passport number, purpose of travel, travel date, and the anticipated length of stay.
(Visas will be issued within 2-3 business days from the day that the note and passport are received.)
